Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, the I&E Technician must be capable of writing PLC programs, modifying exciting programs, troubleshooting control systems, calibrating instrumentation, configure radio systems, and basic maintenance of automation systems.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the customer to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control issues.

• Day-to-day maintenance and repair, including hands on troubleshooting.

• Proactively identifying potential or developing field issues, and alerting managers for proactive remediation.

• Assisting in start-up and commissioning of new sites.

• Install radio systems and set up radio networks.

• Providing on-site support for control and automation issues that our customers assign.

• Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and protocols.

• Keep up with daily paperwork including but not limited to daily field tickets, time sheets, purchase orders and inventory tracking. 

• Write PLC operating program based upon control specification and/or industry standards to assure safe, reliable and optimal equipment operation. 

• Provide technical assistance (phone or job-site) to verify and/or modify PLC program.

Education and Experience:

Two-year degree, completion of trade school or related work experience required; Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience is required. Previous industrial field I&E experience required; Experience with Automation integration, Allen Bradley and Roc or comparable program is also needed for this role.

The candidate should be highly skilled in the following areas: problem solving, task prioritization, active listening, verbal and written communication skills. This position requires a self-starter/self-learner that demonstrates clear accountability and can adapt easily whether working independently or with a team. The candidate must have a strong sense of urgency and sound judgment.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to regularly perform physical tasks such as entering a confined space, climbing stairs and ladders, and walking long distances. Outdoor work in all weather conditions. Must be able to frequently climb ladders, crawl, crouch and kneel occasionally. Frequent lifting required up to 50 lbs, with average lifting up to 25 lbs. Walking/pushing/pulling are also frequently required. Operates a vehicle at least 70% of the time. Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours and have a flexible schedule. Candidate must possess valid driver's license and clean driving record.
